Sony HVR-DR60 (HVRDR60, DR60) portable 60GB HDD DV / HDV field recorder

High Definition/Standard Definition device offers longer recording times and greater workflow flexibility. The HVR-DR60 is a lightweight and portable hard disk (HDD) recording unit, which is the ideal accompaniment to camcorders such as the new HVR-V1E. The HVR-DR60 is easily connected with a camcorder via i.LINK, and offers users the ability to record on to both tape and hard disk simultaneously - ideal to create a hybrid recording solution for customers. The compact footprint design also provides four and a half hours of continuous HDV/DVCAM/DV stream recording. In addition, as the product is file-based, workflow options are enhanced providing high-speed access to NLE systems and random access to video files.

Features:
Longer continuous recording times
1.8 inch internal HDD offers a capacity of 60gb which translates to 4.5 hours of  continuous recording for both HDV, DVCAM/DV recordings.

Maximising the efficiency of non linear editing
Via I-link connection, enables recording of HDV1080i stream from an HDV camcorder, or DV stream from a DVCAM camcorder.

PC Connectivity
The HVR-DR60 is recognised as a standard external drive so users can immediately access and edit recorded footage as any typical video file. This saves the time previously required for digitising material from the tape to PC – time that could otherwise be spent for more creative and productive editing tasks.

Robust and rugged design
The HVR-DR60 is designed with professionals in mind and has been constructed so that if the unit is inadvertently dropped from heights of up to 100cm, the data is not lost. This is achieved using HDD smart protection. This incorporates a 3G sensor that detects if the unit is being dropped and automatically retracts the HDD head and
switches the unit off. A buffer memory of up to 14 seconds ensures continuous recording in the event of dropping or power interruption.

Same batteries that power your camcorder
No need to worry about different types of batteries to power the unit. With the HVRDR60 you can use the same L series batteries that power the HVR-Z1E, HVR-V1E and DSR-PD170P camcorders

Light and compact
The unit weighs around 227g (excluding battery) making it very portable and can be mounted on the camera or held separately. Using the Sony L-series batteries (used by HVR-Z1E, HVR-V1E and DSR-PD170P) means that batteries can provide life of up to 13.5 hours depending on the chosen battery type.

Playout options
The HVR-DR60 offers users two options – video mode and computer mode. Video mode allows users to review content either via the camcorder, a display monitor or VTR via the i.link connection. This mode also allows continuous and seemless looped playback if required. The computer mode allows high-speed transfer of either .m2t or AVI type 1 direct to a PC.
